Description
L-Asparaginase is an antineoplastic enzyme used as a component of multi-agent chemotherapy regimens, principally for acute lymphoblastic leukemia/acute lymphocytic leukemia and, in some protocols, lymphoblastic lymphoma. It acts by hydrolysing circulating asparagine, thereby depriving lymphoblasts of an amino acid required for protein synthesis and cellular proliferation.
