Description
Melphalan 50 mg injectable lyophilised powder is a hospital-administered cytotoxic alkylating agent used in specialist oncology and haematology settings. Conventional IV melphalan is used for palliative treatment of multiple myeloma when oral therapy is not appropriate and for palliation of non-resectable ovarian carcinoma in certain references; high-dose melphalan regimens are also used as conditioning treatment before haematopoietic progenitor/stem-cell transplantation in multiple myeloma.
