DESCRIPCIÓN:
Anestésico general y sedante intravenoso. Se utiliza para la inducción y el mantenimiento de la anestesia general, la sedación con atención anestésica monitorizada (MAC), la sedación combinada y la anestesia regional y la sedación en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) de pacientes con ventilación mecánica.

Propofol is a rapidly acting, lipophilic intravenous anesthetic agent used for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia and sedation. Its primary mechanism involves potentiation of the GABA-A receptor, enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission and leading to dose-dependent sedation and hypnosis. Due to its rapid onset and short duration of action, Propofol is widely utilized in surgical anesthesia, intensive care sedation, and procedural sedation. It is supplied as an oil-in-water emulsion and must be administered intravenously under strict medical supervision.Available Presentations

- Formulation: Sterile emulsion for intravenous injection; lipid-based with soybean oil, glycerol, and egg lecithin
