Product Description:

Bleomycin is a cytotoxic glycopeptide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces verticillus, used as an antineoplastic agent. It acts by binding to DNA, inducing single- and double-strand breaks through the formation of free radicals and inhibition of DNA synthesis. Bleomycin shows phase-specific activity, particularly in the G2 and M phases of the cell cycle. It is primarily employed in the treatment of germ cell tumors, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas, and squamous cell carcinomas. The 15 IU lyophilized vial is the standard concentration used globally for intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intrapleural administration.

  • Used in squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck, cervix, vulva, penis, and esophagus
• Sclerosing Agent:
  • Intrapleural administration for malignant pleural effusion control (pleurodesis)

• Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
• Germ cell tumors, including testicular and ovarian cancers
• Squamous cell carcinomas of the skin, oral cavity, esophagus, genitals, and cervix
• Malignant pleural effusions (via intrapleural instillation for sclerotherapy)
• Investigational use in Kaposi sarcoma and other rare tumor types
